Job Summary

Promotes and restores patients' health by developing day-to-day management and long-term planning of the patient care areas. The Nursing Deputy Manager is expected to manage and coordinate patient care and personnel needs at IHHN, plan, develop, implement, and evaluate ambulatory health care services, programs, and activities, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary professional staff. The Nursing Deputy Manager will also assist in developing and implementing the goals and objectives of the nursing department to ensure compliance with standards of accrediting and regulatory agencies.

Tasks & Responsibilities
  • Provide operational oversight in support of nursing services, including developing and interpreting nursing policies and procedures into goals and program plans. Evaluate nursing activities and resources through analysis of activities, decisions, and relations.
  • Coordinate and direct daily activities to ensure optimal patient care aligned with organizational goals. Ensure compliance with clinical standards and policies.
  • Recommend fiscal planning and budget controls. Collaborate with management to determine fiscal requirements and prepare budget recommendations. Monitor resource utilization and appropriateness.
  • Ensure complete and accurate documentation of patient care in accordance with hospital policies.
  • Promote exemplary customer service and effective communication, including problem-solving, assertiveness, team support, feedback, active listening, and conflict resolution.
  • Support nursing units' activities to ensure efficient operations. Maintain detailed knowledge of each unit's status, including patient acuity, staff coordination, and progress toward goals.
  • Plan, schedule, and organize work, ensuring proper assignment distribution and efficient use of personnel and resources. Oversee the care and maintenance of unit inventory, equipment, and supplies.
  • Coordinate with other departments via meetings, committees, and projects.
  • Develop and expand learning opportunities and skill development programs for staff. Promote ongoing education and training to enhance competence and knowledge of new developments in patient care.
  • Manage HR activities such as hiring, staff allocation, training, mentoring, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Develop and monitor feedback and complaint mechanisms to assess and improve nursing staff performance and patient care quality.
  • Participate in planning, directing, and evaluating staff performance and patient care services.
  • Ensure adherence to infection control and standard procedures.
