Job Overview:

Paklogics is looking for aData Scientistwith approximately2 years of hands-on industry experiencein building and managing data pipelines, automating data workflows, and working with large-scale data ingestion and preprocessing tasks. This is a full-timeonsite positionbased at our Lahore office (Model Town). The ideal candidate should demonstrate proficiency in designing and operatingend-to-end ETL pipelines, managing task orchestration usingApache Airflow, and preparing model-ready datasets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain scalableETL pipelinesfor processing structured and unstructured data from various sources
  • Performdata ingestionusing APIs, flat files, and third-party connectors
  • Clean, validate, and preprocess data for downstream analytics or machine learning workflows
  • Implement and manage data workflow orchestration usingApache Airflow, including DAG creation, scheduling, and monitoring
  • Collaborate with engineering and AI/ML teams to provide clean, well-structured, and reliable datasets
  • Optimize data processes for performance and cost-effectiveness, especially in cloud environments
  • Maintain data pipeline documentation and data dictionaries
  • Conduct root-cause analysis on data issues and pipeline failures
Required Skills & Tools:
Programming & Scripting:
  • Strong proficiency inPythonfor data processing (Pandas, NumPy, etc.)
  • Working knowledge ofSQL(joins, window functions, query optimization)
  • Familiarity withBash/Shell scriptingfor automation tasks
ETL & Workflow Orchestration:
  • Experience building and maintainingend-to-end ETL pipelines
  • Hands-on experience withApache Airflow(writing custom DAGs, managing scheduling, handling retries/failures)
Data Handling & Integration:
  • Knowledge ofdata ingestionstrategies (file-based, API-based, database replication)
  • Experience withdata preprocessingand data quality checks
  • Experience working with bothstructured (SQL databases)andsemi-structured data (JSON, CSV, XML)
Databases & Storage:
  • Experience withrelational databaseslike MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MS SQL Server
  • Basic understanding ofNoSQL databasessuch as MongoDB or DynamoDB (optional)
  • Familiarity withcloud storage(S3, GCS, etc.) is a plus
Version Control & CI/CD:
  • Working knowledge ofGit, GitHub/GitLab workflows
  • Understanding ofCI/CD conceptsfor data pipeline deployments is preferred
Soft Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively and take ownership of assigned tasks
Eligibility Criteria:
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • 2 years of professional experiencein a Data Science or Data Engineering role
  • Comfortable workingonsiteat our Lahore office
  • Available duringnight shift hours(5:00 PM – 2:00 AM)
