Job Title: Senior DevOps Engineer

Job Type: Full-time

Overview

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to architect and maintain the deployment, automation, and monitoring infrastructure of our data analytics platform. This role is central to ensuring the platform's reliability, scalability, and maintainability, especially as we process large volumes of audio signature data in batch-based, high-throughput environments.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working in an on-premises Linux-based infrastructure, experienced with building CI/CD pipelines, and capable of integrating containerized workloads, scheduling systems (e.g. Airflow), and telemetry monitoring stacks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and manage CI/CD pipelines for all data processing and system components.
  • Build and maintain infrastructure automation using shell scripts and infrastructure-as-code tools.
  • Manage containerization of microservices, jobs, and orchestration components (Docker-based).
  • Set up and maintain monitoring, alerting, and logging using tools like ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, or Filebeat.
  • Ensure system uptime, resource scaling, and backup/restore procedures across compute, storage, and networking.
  • Work closely with data engineers and developers to provide build/deploy/release automation support.
  • Configure and maintain systems for Airflow, Kafka, and supporting middleware.
  • Document deployment architecture and operational workflows for internal reference and audits.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps, system administration, or platform engineering.
  • Strong Linux expertise, including bash scripting, system services, and resource tuning.
  • Experience with Docker, shell scripting, rsync, and secure data transfer automation.
  • Hands-on experience setting up and maintaining Kafka, PostgreSQL, Airflow, or similar tools.
  • Proficiency in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Git, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or equivalent.
  • Experience with setting up centralized logging, metrics collection, and visual dashboards.
  • Deep understanding of on-premises infrastructure provisioning, backup strategies, and storage planning.

Preferred

  • Experience working in data-heavy environments (e.g., time-series, batch jobs, telemetry).
  • Comfortable with writing bash scripts, any familiarity with python
  • Familiarity with systemd, nginx, SSL, and reverse proxy setups.
  • Knowledge of secure data transmission, encryption at rest, and compliance-ready infrastructure.
  • Prior experience supporting data pipelines and working with DataOps or ML pipelines.

Bonus Experience

  • Infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools.
  • Experience with job scheduling or workload orchestration beyond Airflow (e.g., Kubernetes, Nomad).
  • Integration of monitoring/logging tools with alerting systems (e.g., Slack, PagerDuty, Opsgenie).
  • Familiarity with deploying software in constrained or bandwidth-sensitive environments (e.g., rural edge networks).
