Job Summary

The primary function of the security guard is to conduct proper screening of all personnel and beneficiaries visiting health facilities. The guard is responsible for surveillance and guarding activities at IMC facilities, following security protocols to ensure the safety and security of all mission personnel, assets, and premises.

Main Tasks and ResponsibilitiesAdministration
  • Ensure the security of people and property at assigned IMC premises.
  • Check and control access to IMC buildings, allowing only authorized individuals. Obtain approval from the guard supervisor or warehouse manager before granting access to unauthorized persons.
  • Maintain a logbook and report security-related incidents to the guard supervisor.
  • Keep records of IMC property moved to and from compounds and prevent unauthorized removal.
  • Remain vigilant within the assigned area and patrol regularly according to the work schedule.
  • Ensure security lights are turned on at sunset and off at sunrise.
  • Report any missing items or unauthorized entries immediately to the supervisor.
  • Ensure all building doors are closed and locked after staff leave.
  • Follow IMC security protocols at all times while on duty.

Perform other duties as assigned. The listed duties are representative of the work's nature and level but are not necessarily all-inclusive.

Job RequirementsMinimum Qualifications
  • Typically, 1 year of relevant security experience.
  • Good physical health, stamina, and hygiene practices.
  • Previous experience with International Medical Corps is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Fluency in written and spoken language as required.
