In addition to the tertiary care hospital in Karachi, AKUH has a network of 4 secondary care hospitals, 30+ Medical Centres, and over 290+ Clinical Laboratories, 30+ Pharmacies in over 120+ cities across Pakistan. It also offers Home Healthcare Services and home deliveries of medicines. The Hospital provides Zakat for those patients who are eligible, and the health system offers generous Patient Welfare to support those in financial need. In recognition of its high quality and patient safety, the AKUH is accredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI) as an Academic Medical Centre, and its Clinical Laboratories are accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) for fast and accurate testing.
ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible to:
- assists pharmacists in drug distribution, inventory management, drug preparation and delivery in any assigned area like field clinics and Pharmacy stores, etc.
- ensure timely delivery of medications to the right location
- handle large and heavy drug cartons and place them on shelves
- ensure Inventory management (critical list, transfer notes, negative balance, indent checking and placement, Perpetual, lot and expiry control, FIFO (first-in, first-out) arrangement, etc.)
- generate Purchase requisition and Material Stock Requisition for consumables and maintain adequate supplies
- expiry management and replacement with fresh stock, reconcile inventory with field clinic
- maintain personal protective equipment and good manufacturing/compounding practices
- create monthly reports as desired
- Any other task assigned by supervisor.
You should have:
- Intermediate, Graduate will be preferred or Dispenser Diploma Course
- 1 to 2 years' experience of working in a hospital pharmacy, medical store, or clinic
- knowledge of basic pharmacy operations, key medication classes, medical supplies, and dosage forms
- ability to read the prescription, labels, and drug names
- proficiency in the use of computer software, especially MS Office and institutional software
- willing to work on weekends, holidays, and rotational shifts.
