We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Switchgear Design Manager to lead the design and development of low to medium-voltage switchgear systems. In this role, you will oversee the full design lifecycle, ensure compliance with industry standards, and manage a team of engineers to deliver high-performance, safe, and cost-effective switchgear solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of electrical design engineers in the development of switchgear products (LV & MV).
  • Oversee and approve detailed switchgear designs, including layouts, single-line diagrams, schematics, and bills of materials.
  • Ensure all designs meet client specifications, industry standards (e.g., IEC, ANSI, IEEE), and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, procurement, and project management teams to ensure design feasibility and cost-effectiveness.
  • Interface with clients to gather technical requirements and provide design consultations.
  • Review and improve design processes to increase efficiency, accuracy, and standardization.
  • Drive innovation by researching and implementing new technologies and design methodologies.
  • Support product testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting when necessary.
  • Prepare and manage design documentation, change control, and version management.
  • Provide mentorship, performance reviews, and development support to the design team.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred).
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in switchgear design, with at least 2 years in a managerial or team leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of low and medium voltage switchgear, protection systems, and power distribution.
  • Familiarity with design and drafting tools such as AutoCAD, EPLAN, or SolidWorks Electrical.
  • Understanding of electrical standards (IEC, UL, ANSI, IEEE, etc.).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with smart switchgear, digital substations, or IEC 61850.
  • PMP or other project management certifications.
  • Experience working in sectors such as utilities, industrial automation, or data centers.
