Operations Manager - Logistics & Opex Management

SCT is one of the fastest growing technology businesses in Pakistan with a portfolio ranging from Telecommunications, Renewables, Software, IT Networks amongst other things.

We're expanding our Power team and are looking for a high-performing individual to join our vibrant Team.

Job Summary:

The Operations Manager - Logistics & Opex Management is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the transportation, accommodation, and overall logistics of teams and vehicles. This role ensures efficient operations while managing operational expenses (Opex) to optimize costs without compromising performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Logistics Management:

  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor vehicle movements and team mobilization across operational sites.
  • Ensure timely and cost-effective transportation arrangements for teams and materials.
  • Oversee vehicle maintenance schedules, fuel consumption, and usage to ensure efficiency and reliability.
  • Implement and improve logistics processes for smoother operations and reduced downtime.

Team Movement Coordination:

  • Develop and maintain travel schedules for teams, ensuring minimal disruptions to project timelines.
  • Coordinate accommodation arrangements for on-site teams, ensuring comfort, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure clear communication of travel plans, changes, and contingencies to all stakeholders.

Operational Expense (Opex) Management:

  • Monitor and control operational expenses related to logistics, transportation, and accommodations.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly Opex reports to ensure cost efficiency and alignment with budget targets.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction while maintaining operational quality.
  • Work closely with Finance and Procurement teams to negotiate contracts and secure favorable terms with vendors.

Compliance & Safety:

  • Ensure all logistics operations comply with local regulations and company policies.
  • Oversee the implementation of safety measures for transportation and team movements.
  • Conduct periodic audits to ensure vehicle and accommodation safety standards are met.
  • Lead and supervise the logistics team, providing guidance and performance management.
  • Develop and upskill team members to ensure operational excellence.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or operations management.
  • Strong understanding of Opex management and cost control strategies.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in logistics software, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Good to Have:

  • Experience in handling logistics for large-scale field operations.
  • Exposure to data-driven decision-making for cost optimization.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems for operations and finance.
  • Background in vendor and contract negotiations with a strategic approach.
