The Division

BuildTopia, a product division of Constellation Homebuilder Systems, requires a motivated and talented Senior Software Security Engineer to join our development team at Contour Karachi.

The Position

The division is looking for a Senior Software Security Engineer to work as part of its team to be responsible for the development and maintenance of its projects that meet both technical requirements and business objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Design and build technology to secure our software.
  2. Work alongside the engineering teams, providing expert leadership and advice on secure cloud architecture, design, and implementation for workloads in AWS and Azure.
  3. Maintain and uplevel existing Web Applications, Mobile Security and related backend services.
  4. Provide guidance to engineers across the company, and ensure best practices are followed in application and mobile security spaces.
  5. Find and build solutions that can effectively detect, deter, and block bad actors while preserving a frictionless experience for good users.
  6. Define and enforce security standards, best practices, and policies across the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  7. Review and provide input on system architecture to identify and mitigate security risks early in the design process.
  8. Lead efforts to identify, track, and remediate security vulnerabilities within applications.
  9. Assist in the investigation of security incidents related to software applications.
  10. Develop high-quality code that meets functional requirements, is easy to maintain, and provides a positive user experience.
  11. Partner with other team members to understand, identify and fix product bugs.
  12. Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers to maintain code quality standards.
  13. Conduct risk assessments for software components and third-party libraries.
  14. Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture, encouraging knowledge sharing, open communication, and continuous learning among team members.
  15. Work closely with other team members, including product owners, designers, and other developers, to translate project requirements into technical solutions.
  16. Participate in agile planning and stand-up meetings as necessary.
  17. Perform other duties as may be assigned by management.

The chosen individual will work out of the Contour Software Karachi resource center office, as an extension of the division-based R&D department.

Required Education and Experience:

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent technical Degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. 6+ years of experience in identifying security vulnerabilities, software development lifecycle, large-scale computing, modeling, cyber security, and anomaly detection.
  3. 5+ years of experience in some basic security concepts like identity, data protection and monitoring in the cloud services space, Cloud technology.
  4. 3+ years of experience with security testing tools and techniques, developing and maintaining web applications and relational databases.
  5. 5+ years of experience with JSON, XML, XSD, and XSL.
  6. 3+ years of experience with developing and maintaining REST based APIs and GIT.
  7. 2+ years of experience with HTML, HTML 5, CSS / CSS3, Vue JS/AngularJS.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  1. Ability to develop clear, specific, and contextually relevant prompts for language model libraries.
  2. Proven expertise in utilizing LLM library features for fine-tuning and optimizing model outputs.
  3. Skilled in evaluating and refining prompts based on model responses to enhance accuracy and relevance.
  4. Experience in identifying security vulnerabilities, software development lifecycle, large-scale computing, modeling, cyber security, and anomaly detection.
  5. Understands that security work must be prioritized because all teams have finite resources.
  6. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug and troubleshoot issues in applications efficiently.
  7. Strong understanding of core Java concepts, OOP, data structures, and algorithms, unit tests, performing code reviews.
