Job Description
Purpose of the Role: The Site Reliability Engineer is an intermediate position on the Site Reliability Engineer/DevOps career path. An SRE works as part of an agile development team with a focus on building and operating infrastructure on which applications run.

  • Building infrastructure
  • Using configuration management tools such as Terraform, Puppet, or Ansible to install and configure services and applications
  • Documenting infrastructure to ensure supportability
  • Operations including data backup and system monitoring for metrics and alerts
  • Security measures such as data encryption
  • Designing infrastructure architecture for high availability
  • Providing support and reports to users and customers
Key Activities
  • Developing, managing, and debugging high-volume, low-latency, high-performance applications
  • Deploying APIs and practicing object-oriented and agile development
  • Designing and developing tests and test infrastructure
  • Contributing throughout the product lifecycle
  • Working independently and being self-driven
  • Participating in team meetings and collaborating on solutions

Qualifications
Technical Skills:
  • Linux / Bash scripting
  • Cloud platforms: AWS, GCP, Azure
  • Languages: Java, Python
  • Distributed microservices, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes
  • Databases: MongoDB, MySQL, DynamoDB, Redis, etc.
  • Web servers: Apache HTTPD, Nginx, etc.
  • Version control and CI/CD tools: Git, GitLab CI, Jenkins
System Administration, Security, and Networking:
  • Understanding of system administration, networking concepts, security principles, and virtualization
Automation and Deployment Technologies
  • Infrastructure as code principles, scripting, configuration management, CI/CD pipelines, containerization
Cloud Technologies
  • Designing scalable, fault-tolerant systems on cloud platforms, understanding cloud services and best practices
