The Assistant Manager Investigations will assist in protecting MMBL's operations from fraud, misconduct, and internal control violations by supporting the Investigations Team in conducting inquiries, compiling evidence, and preparing reports. The role involves understanding financial transactions, applying investigative techniques, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will support fraud risk assessments, assist in corporate investigations from initial assessment to resolution, and contribute to the implementation of corrective actions as directed by the Head of Investigations.

What AM Investigations - MMBL Does?

• Draft and support investigation plans in coordination with the Head of Investigations and VEON Group Investigations.
• Assist in conducting preliminary investigations into internal and external allegations of fraud or misconduct.
• Interact with relevant departments within MMBL to obtain required documentation, information, and data.
• Draft reports and presentations on the progress and conclusion of investigations.
• Prepare drafts of investigation findings and assist in reporting outcomes to the Head of Investigations.
• Maintain investigation records, logs, and evidence in accordance with internal procedures.
• Analyze financial records, transaction logs, and other data sources to identify anomalies.
• Participate in interviews, background checks, and assessments as part of investigations.
• Track the status of active cases and ensure timely closure of assigned tasks.
• Monitor case management systems and contribute to timely updates on investigation statuses.
• Support and track the implementation of corrective and preventive measures following investigations.
• Assist in preparing content for internal awareness campaigns and fraud prevention training sessions.
• Develop training materials related to specific aspects of corporate investigations.
• Stay updated on new tools, techniques, and trends in fraud detection and analysis.
• Identify potential policy violations and internal control weaknesses during investigations.
• Coordinate with external consultants, when required, for investigative support.
• Examine documents such as victim testimonies and financial records to detect inconsistencies or anomalies.
• Use forensic tools, techniques, and data analytics to gather and analyze forensic evidence.
• Act as an expert witness in legal proceedings, if required.
• Coordinate with HR and Legal departments to assess legal implications of investigations.
• Assist in managing case management portals and ensure timely closure of tagged cases.

What are we looking for and what does it require to be AM Investigations - MMBL?

Educational Background

• Training or Certification in Fraud Examination (CFE) is a plus or willingness to pursue it.

Experience

• 2–3 years of relevant experience in the corporate sector, preferably within financial services, banking, investigations, law, audit, compliance, or risk management.

Technical Proficiency

• Strong understanding of investigative techniques and procedures.
• Familiarity with data analytics and visualization tools.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and database systems.
• Exposure to fraud risk assessments or forensic data analysis (preferred).
• Knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks in banking (preferred).
• Basic report writing and presentation skills (preferred).
