Librarian

Position: Library Assistant

Location: Faisalabad, Pakistan

The Library Assistant will be responsible for assisting the Librarian in managing the library collections and providing support to library patrons. This is a contract position with a salary of $1500. Candidates without experience are welcome to apply, and those with their own visa will be given preference.

1. Assist in organizing and maintaining library collections, including shelving books, filing periodicals, and cataloging new materials.
2. Provide support to library patrons by helping them locate materials, answering reference questions, and issuing library cards.
3. Assist in managing the circulation desk, including checking out materials and collecting fines.
4. Help with administrative tasks such as data entry, creating reports, and updating records.
5. Collaborate with other library staff to plan and implement programs and events for library patrons.
6. Ensure that the library is kept clean, organized, and presentable at all times.

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field.
• Excellent communication skills in both English and Urdu.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of library databases.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and prioritize responsibilities.
