Job Description: Backend Developer

Location: Karachi (on-site, no remote)

Salary: 30,000 – 70,000 PKR/month (depending on skills & experience)

Employment Type: Full-time / Project-based

About Us

We are an international IT & AI company building applications where the backend connects the AI core modules and the frontend. Our projects include industrial dashboards, legal technology platforms, and other AI-supported systems. The AI models are developed by a separate team – your role is to develop the backend layer that makes the whole system work.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain backend applications using Python (FastAPI).
  • Design and manage databases (PostgreSQL, TimescaleDB) for structured and time-series data.
  • Build and document REST APIs that connect frontend and AI services.
  • Implement core backend services such as:
  • User & role management
  • CRUD functions for system data
  • Alarm & event handling
  • Reporting (CSV/PDF exports)
  • Audit trail (logging of changes & actions)
  • Ensure security and access control (Keycloak SSO or JWT with RBAC).
  • Containerize applications with Docker and support CI/CD deployment.
  • Collaborate with frontend developers and AI engineers to ensure smooth integration.

Requirements

  • Strong experience with Python and FastAPI.
  • Good knowledge of PostgreSQL / TimescaleDB.
  • Proven skills in REST API design and system integration.
  • Experience with microservices and containerization (Docker).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) and basic monitoring/logging.
  • Plus: knowledge of MQTT / OPC UA or data ingestion systems.]
  • Ability to deliver within defined timelines and work independently.
