We are looking for a talented individual to join our team as a Database Administrator with a focus on improving the efficiency and performance of our data infrastructure, largely implemented in MySQL. This role requires strong analysis and troubleshooting skills and experience supporting enterprise applications and infrastructure. Strong experience with open source technologies is required.

• Design and implement effective database solutions and models to store and retrieve company data.
• Evaluate client operations, applications, and programming to determine database structural needs.
• Develop and oversee maintenance plans ensuring health and performance of data infrastructure.
• Assess database implementation procedures for compliance with internal and external regulations.
• Provide operational support for production and non-production data infrastructure, including MySQL, MS SQL, DynamoDB, etc.
• Prepare accurate database designs, models, and architecture reports for engineering, management, and executive teams.
• Design and oversee migration and replication of data between systems.
• Monitor system performance through regular tests, troubleshooting, and feature integration.
• Participate in release processes to develop and execute SQL scripts related to product releases.
• Recommend solutions to improve new and existing database systems.
• Develop and enforce database development standards.
• Develop reports for the business using SQL scripts, PowerBI, etc.
• Educate staff through training and individual support.
• Provide timely support by responding to system problems.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a relevant field.
• 8+ years of experience with database systems.
• 5+ years of experience with MySQL.
• 5+ years of experience writing SQL functions, procedures, and complex queries.
• Expert knowledge of database structures including schema design.
• Strong experience analyzing and resolving MySQL performance issues in the data layer.
• Prior experience with ETL.
• Experience creating and maintaining business intelligence reports and data visualization.
• Excellent organizational and analytical abilities.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

• Experience with cloud data technologies (e.g., Amazon RDS, Azure, DynamoDB, Snowflake).
• Experience with data analysis platforms and tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, DataBricks, R).
