Role and Responsibilities

  • Develop architectural strategies for data modeling, design, and implementation to meet requirements for metadata management, master data management, Data warehouses, ETL, and ELT.
  • Analyze business requirements, design scalable and robust data models, document conceptual, logical, and physical data model design, assist developers in creating database structures, and support throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead and mentor data engineers, focusing on skill growth and adoption of DevOps and DataOps principles.
  • Investigate new technologies, data modeling methods, and information management systems to incorporate into data architectures, including developing implementation timelines and milestones.
  • Identify and resolve conflicts between models, ensuring consistency with the ecosystem model (e.g., entity names, relationships, definitions).
  • Participate in designing the information architecture, review models, glossary, data flows, and usage.
  • Guide the team to achieve project goals and milestones.
  • Work independently within broad guidelines and policies.
  • Contribute as an expert to multiple delivery teams, define best practices, build reusable designs, and engage with wider data communities.
  • Conduct data processing techniques such as data curation, representation, standardization, normalization, and other forms of data preparation for integration, analysis, and sharing.

Skills And Experience

  • Graduate or Post-Graduate in Computer Science, Electronics, or Software Engineering.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in Data Modeling for data warehouses and analytics applications like OLAP or database technologies.
  • Expertise in data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical), with experience in Enterprise Data Warehouses and Data Marts.
  • Good understanding of cloud database technologies and services such as GCP, Redshift, Aurora, DynamoDB.
  • Experience working with data governance, data quality, and data security teams.
  • Experience handling large databases and data volumes.
  • Comfortable working with heterogeneous datasets, building and optimizing data pipelines using ETL/ELT, CDC, message-oriented data movement, stream data integration, and virtualization.
  • Strong experience in optimizing existing ETL processes and data integration flows, with a focus on moving to production.
  • Hands-on experience with data discovery, analytics, and BI tools like MicroStrategy, Tableau, Power BI.
  • Effective leadership and mentorship skills for team delivery.
  • Excellent communication skills for conducting presentations across functions and levels.
