Role Summary:
The Pre-Sales Business Analyst plays a crucial role in the sales cycle by bridging the gap between client needs and the company's service offerings. This role involves collaborating with sales, business analysis, and engineering/delivery teams to analyze business requirements, scope solutions, conduct product demonstrations, and develop compelling proposals and presentations that drive business growth.
The ideal candidate possesses a strong analytical mindset, business acumen, excellent communication skills, and expertise in business analysis, proposal writing, and market research.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with sales teams to assess client needs, business challenges, and industry trends to define feasible technical solutions.
- Assist in developing proposals, defining project scope, and ensuring technical feasibility.
- Analyze Request for Proposals (RFPs), business requirements, and pain points to propose tailored solutions.
- Work with Business Analysts, Project Managers, and Technical Teams to align solution approaches with company capabilities.
- Conduct Proof of Concepts (POCs) and feasibility assessments to validate proposed solutions.
- Develop scope documents, high-quality proposals, business cases, and technical solution documents with a focus on quick turnaround.
- Assist in defining project scope, technical feasibility, and pricing models in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and support cost estimations, effort breakdowns and pricing model development.
- Maintain a repository of past proposals, pricing models, and case studies for future reference.
- Prepare client presentations, pitch decks, and demonstrations to effectively communicate business and technical value.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify emerging opportunities and industry trends.
- Work closely with other Business Analysts, Project Managers, and Delivery Teams to ensure solutions are both technically and financially viable.
- Assist in defining implementation roadmaps, risk assessments, and assumptions for client projects.
Key Skills & Requirements:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for presentations, proposal writing, and client interactions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate client needs into scalable and cost-effective solutions.
- Strong ability to analyze business needs, scope solutions, and create structured, persuasive and client-focused proposals.
- Experience in business, market and competitor research, market intelligence, and strategic decision-making.
- Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), software development methodologies, and emerging technology trends.
Software Proficiency:
- Spreadsheets: Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets (financial modeling, cost estimations).
- Presentation Tools: Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Slides (client presentations, pitch decks).
- Documentation: Microsoft Word, Google Docs (proposal writing, technical documentation).
Education:
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Business Administration, IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Fresh Graduate or 1-2 years of experience in business analysis, pre-sales, proposal development, or related roles.
