We are seeking a Product Data Analyst to join our team and play a key role in driving data-informed decision-making across our product organization. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and passionate about transforming raw data into actionable insights that guide product strategy, improve user experience, and drive business growth.

What You'll Do
  • Partner with product managers, engineers, researchers, and designers to define success metrics and evaluate product performance.
  • Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets from multiple sources (product usage, customer behavior, experiments, etc.).
  • Develop dashboards and reports that communicate key product trends, KPIs, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses to answer business-critical questions and influence product roadmaps.
  • Design, measure, and analyze A/B tests and other experiments to assess the impact of new features.
  • Identify user behavior patterns and provide insights that improve customer retention, engagement, and conversion.
  • Collaborate with data engineering teams to improve data quality, availability, and scalability.
  • Translate complex data findings into clear, actionable recommendations for stakeholders at all levels.
What You'll Add to DigitalOcean
  • 10+ years of experience in product analytics, data science, or a related analytics field, ideally within a B2B SaaS or consumer technology company.
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience working with large-scale data sets in Snowflake or similar cloud data platforms.
  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining dbt models in a production environment.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to turn data into actionable product insights.
  • Exceptional communication skills—you're comfortable translating technical findings into compelling narratives for product and business audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Preferred
  • Experience with product instrumentation and event tracking tools (e.g., Amplitude, Mixpanel, Segment).
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools like Looker, Tableau, or Sigma.
  • Knowledge of experimentation frameworks and experience designing and analyzing A/B tests.
  • Understanding of product lifecycle metrics such as activation, engagement, retention, and churn.
  • Experience mentoring other analysts or managing product analytics projects end-to-end.

You'll be a part of a cutting-edge technology company with an upward trajectory, who are proud to simplify cloud and AI so builders can spend more time creating software that changes the world. As a member of the team, you will be a Shark who thinks big, bold, and scrappy, like an owner with a bias for action and a powerful sense of responsibility for customers, products, employees, and decisions.
  • We prioritize career development. At DO, you'll do the best work of your career. You will work with some of the smartest and most interesting people in the industry. We are a high-performance organization that will always challenge you to think big. Our organizational development team will provide you with resources to ensure you keep growing. We provide employees with reimbursement for relevant conferences, training, and education.
