Overview

Arkhitech is seeking a talented Software Engineer with Ruby on Rails experience who enjoys building advanced internet applications, designing great APIs, and mentoring junior developers.

Major Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Cultivating engineering best practices within the web group and, in conjunction with other senior engineers, company-wide.
  2. Collaborating with other technical leaders to analyze complex feature requests and suggest implementation strategies.
  3. Estimating the time required to complete work and providing quotes.
  4. Performing moderately complex product design, systems analysis, and programming activities requiring research.
  5. Conducting unit testing (including mocking as needed) and integration testing on software.
  6. Mentoring junior engineers and defining engineering standards.
  7. Adhering to Arkhitech's policies, standards, and procedures in the performance of job duties.
  8. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  1. Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Computer Sciences.
  2. 1+ years of experience in Ruby on Rails with strong emphasis on MVC and OOP.
  3. Experience with Agile development processes and engineering best practices like continuous integration and unit testing.
  4. Understanding of performance and security issues, and their solutions when designing web-based applications.
  5. Excellent technical judgment to know when to use an off-the-shelf solution and when to make a custom one.
  6. Good verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  7. High energy level with strong motivation to meet delivery deadlines.
