Aga Khan University, chartered in 1983 as Pakistan's first private international university, is committed to providing education, research, and healthcare of international standards relevant to Pakistan and the region. The affiliated Aga Khan University Hospital offers state-of-the-art clinical facilities and diagnostic services. The University has teaching sites in Pakistan, East Africa, the United Kingdom, and Afghanistan, and is a major part of the Aga Khan Development Network.

The Outreach and Research Programme of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health operates ten community-based field sites across Pakistan, including four in Karachi, focusing on research to improve women and child health. The department features a Nutritional Research Laboratory and an Infectious Disease Research Laboratory, supporting its research projects. It has achieved recognition both nationally and internationally.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  1. Accompanying research staff during field visits;
  2. Visiting households to identify project-related enrollments;
  3. Contacting parents and explaining the study's purpose;
  4. Coordinating study center visits;
  5. Counseling mothers for study participation;
  6. Providing logistical support for the project;
  7. Breastfeeding counseling for mothers.
Requirements
Requirements

You should have:

  1. Matriculation or higher educational qualification;
  2. 1-2 years of experience in community-based projects;
  3. Experience in maternal and child health projects (mandatory);
  4. Experience with breastfeeding projects (highly desirable);
  5. Ability to communicate orally in colloquial English and/or Urdu;
  6. Effective communication skills;
  7. Professional integrity;
  8. Mature, reliable, and responsible demeanor;
  9. Ability to understand and follow instructions;
  10. Proficiency in Urdu and local languages;
  11. Ability to handle Android-based tablets.
