Job Description:

As a Software Engineer, you will play a vital role in building and maintaining applications and back-end services for user-generated content (UGC) within the Commerce group. We are looking for someone with prior engineering experience, ideally within the e-commerce and SaaS space.

This role requires a deep technical understanding of our systems and products to execute effectively and to make insightful product and user-focused decisions. You will work closely with Design, Product, and DevOps teams to develop and maintain our embedded content galleries and management dashboard used by major brands worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with designers, PMs, and engineers to solve challenging problems in e-commerce and content marketing, leading feature projects from start to finish.
  • Expand engineering best practices, tooling, QA/testing, documentation, and other processes for our team.
  • Lead projects across various UGC services, including scalable back-end APIs, consumer-facing galleries, and curation platforms.
  • Influence the direction of our product offerings with technical and user-focused insights.
  • Communicate clearly with product management and architects to maximize customer value.
  • Support team-wide DevOps initiatives and engineer enablement through infrastructure and scripting knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • Mid-level developer eager for technical challenges and learning opportunities in full-stack development.
  • Strong proficiency in Ruby on Rails (or similar MVC frameworks like Django, Laravel, Spring).
  • Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch).
  • Knowledge of Python and Scala is advantageous.
  • Experience with React.js is a plus.
  • Understanding of e-commerce platforms (Shopify, Magento, etc.) is beneficial.
  • Proactive problem solver.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
