Experience
  • At least 4 years of hands-on experience as a Crane Mechanic, preferably in the mining or construction industry.
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of crane operations, including mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with working on different types of cranes, such as mobile cranes, overhead cranes, and crawler cranes.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety standards and procedures in industrial settings.
  • Basic computer skills for maintaining logs and reports.
Responsibilities
  • Perform regular inspections, maintenance, and repairs on cranes and related equipment to ensure operational safety and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on various crane models and resolve them promptly.
  • Replace or repair defective components, including motors, brakes, gears, and hydraulic systems.
  • Conduct routine lubrication of moving parts and ensure compliance with the manufacturer's maintenance schedule.
  • Maintain detailed service logs and inspection reports for all repairs and maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with other SITE personnel to ensure minimal downtime and efficient crane operations.
  • Adhere to RDMC safety and quality standards while working in high-risk environments.
  • Provide on-the-job training to crane operators on safe handling and minor maintenance practices.
  • Source and requisition parts, tools, and materials required for repairs.
  • Participate in emergency breakdown responses and conduct root cause analyses to prevent recurrence.
