Dairy Farm Manager

Bachelors - Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)

A small/medium sized dairy farm, based in Mirpur Sakro, Dist. Thatta (Sindh) is looking to hire a Farm Manager / Veterinary Farm Assistant. Responsibilities of the farm manager will include, but not be limited to, the following:

1. Ensure milking takes place in a timely manner (overseeing both morning and afternoon milking rounds) and to ensure that it is done in the most effective manner, both in terms of output as well as taking animal health into account.
2. Ensuring that the highest hygiene standards are maintained at the farm.
3. Be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the dairy farm (financial and operational).
4. Manage and oversee animal feed, including its procurement and custody/safekeeping.
5. Keep up to date records (milking records, vaccination, feed stock, calf, breeding, feeding, production, expenditures, sales, etc.) in both hardcopy and electronic formats (Excel/dairy management software).
6. Oversee reproduction and strategies for growing the farm.
7. Take complete responsibility to ensure optimal amounts of milk are supplied to our client on a daily basis, including ensuring the milk is chilled in a timely fashion and proper temperatures are maintained, as per farm policy.
8. Responsible for managing all staff related to the dairy farm, and to undertake all duties and take responsibility and be accountable for all activities taking place at the farm.

The farm is situated at Ladhiya (Tehsil Mirpur Sakro) and is approximately 70 km from Karachi airport. On-site accommodation will be provided.

It is absolutely ESSENTIAL that managers with at least 1 or 2 years of relevant experience apply. Any other non-related CV/application, which does not meet the requirements, will be ignored.

Dairy, Veterinary, milking, reproduction, husbandry, vaccinations, vet, herd management, dairy and farm hygiene, basic financial and operational skills for record keeping, thorough knowledge of dairy farming.
