The Area Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing and executing end to end logistics operations across various warehouse formats, including CFS, CY, inland depots, and bonded warehouses. This role ensures that all inventory and fulfillment activities are efficiently managed in alignment with Maersk's operational goals. In addition to logistics execution, this role carries significant people leadership responsibilities—guiding teams, driving performance, and supporting talent development.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational & Executional Oversight:

  • Manage day-to-day logistics activities across multiple warehouse types (owned and/or operated)
  • Ensure efficient warehouse planning, inventory control, and fulfillment execution
  • Maintain high standards of safety, compliance, and service delivery in logistics operations
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure service excellence
  • Solve operational issues through practical methods within defined guidelines and boundaries

People Leadership:
  • Lead a team of logistics professionals with full employee lifecycle responsibility (hiring, coaching, performance management, development planning, and separations)
  • Set team priorities, assign tasks, and ensure timely completion of deliverables
  • Mentor team members, enabling continuous learning and development
  • Create a high-performing team culture through feedback, recognition, and clear expectations

Strategic & Business Development:
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of area-specific logistics strategies and business plans
  • Support policy development and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency
  • Identify opportunities for optimization and cost effective operations

Key Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field
  • Proven experience (typically 5–7 years) in warehouse and logistics operations, preferably in a multinational environment
  • Experience in leading teams with direct people management responsibilities
  • Strong understanding of logistics networks, warehousing, and fulfillment practices
  • Sound decision making skills with the ability to evaluate solutions within a set framework
  • Knowledge of safety, compliance, and regulatory requirements in logistics operations
  • Proficiency in logistics management systems and MS Office tools
