Medical Officer - Mardan - Infection Control

Experience
  • One-year house job and registration with PMDC is mandatory.
  • Experience in IPC implementation and training will be an asset.
  • Candidate should be a motivated, passionate, organized, and proactive communicator, with experience working in teaching/community settings.
  • Experience in community engagement/mobilization and partnership working in a community health environment.
  • Positive and proactive with the ability to motivate, engage, and support the team.
  • Adept in communication; confident in public speaking and presentations.
Education

MBBS or IPC certified healthcare professionals, with preference given to MBBS/BDS.

Job Description
  1. Promote and demonstrate Infection Prevention and Control practices through visual aids and IEC materials.
  2. Conduct engagement sessions among healthcare workers at remote healthcare facilities and communities.
  3. Promote community engagement and organize community sessions on Infection Prevention and Control.
  4. Implement project activities through Mobile Van Units (MVU) to promote IPC practices.
  5. Represent IPC at local health forums, promote IPC, and maintain partnerships, including public speaking/presentations to small/medium groups.
  6. Participate in team meetings, district meetings, and community engagement sessions, providing updates and contributing to reports.
  7. Support communication strategies such as public events, training, awareness sessions, social media, etc.
  8. Monitor and support supervision on IPC practices using the IHHN-developed IPC checklist; assist in program assessment using the IPCAF tool.
  9. Develop monthly IPC reports, prepare meeting minutes, and quarterly IPCAF reports.
  10. Assist in district stakeholder meetings and waste management committees related to IPC.
  11. Assess health facilities with DFP and MEAL officers to identify IPC gaps and develop training materials.
  12. Orient youth volunteers on community sessions and support community activities.
  13. Arrange and conduct IPC orientation sessions for healthcare workers regularly.
  14. Support district teams in MVU sessions, develop route and activity plans, and prepare visit reports.
  15. Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
