Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan Burq Full time

About Burq

Burq started with an ambitious mission: how can we turn the complex process of offering delivery into a simple turnkey solution.

We started with building the largest network of delivery networks, partnering with some of the biggest delivery companies. We then made it extremely easy for businesses to plug into our network and start offering delivery to their customers. Now, we're powering deliveries for some of the fastest-growing companies from retailers to startups.

It's a big mission and now we want you to join us to make it even bigger

We're already backed by some of the Valley's leading venture capitalists, including Village Global, the fund whose investors include Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg, Reid Hoffman, and Sara Blakely. We have assembled a world-class team all over the U.S.

We operate at scale, but we're still a small team relative to the opportunity. We have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to grow while doing the most important work of your career.

We want people who are unafraid to be wrong and support decisions with numbers and narrative. Here's a quick overview of what you will be doing:

Job Summary:
We are hiring a Network & Endpoint Administrator to manage Burq's network infrastructure, enforce internet policies (including whitelisting/Black-listing sites), and resolve technical issues across devices (e.g., laptops, desktops). This role combines network security, compliance with fair usage policies, and hands-on IT support to ensure seamless operations and secure connectivity

.Key Responsibilities:
1. Network & Security Management

  • Maintain and troubleshoot internet connectivity, firewalls, switches, and VPNs.
  • Implement reverse block policies (whitelisting/blacklisting) to control access to websites/applications per organizational guidelines.
  • Monitor for breaches and unauthorized access using tools like SIEM, IDS/IPS, and firewall logs.

2. Endpoint (Laptop/Desktop) Support

  • Diagnose and resolve hardware/software issues on employee laptops (e.g., OS errors, driver conflicts, connectivity problems).
  • Perform repairs or coordinate with vendors for hardware replacements (e.g., screens, keyboards).
  • Install, configure, and update authorized software (e.g., productivity tools, security patches).

3. Policy Enforcement & Compliance

  • Enforce reverse block policies by configuring content filtering tools (e.g., OpenDNS, Squid Proxy) to block non-compliant websites/services.
  • Monitor bandwidth usage to ensure adherence to Burq's Fair Usage Policy (FUP), restricting non-work activities (e.g., streaming, gaming).
  • Investigate policy violations and escalate repeat offenders.

4. User Training & Assistance

  • Train employees on Burq's IT policies, including acceptable internet use and security protocols.
  • Provide step-by-step guidance for basic troubleshooting (e.g., Wi-Fi connectivity, email setup).

5. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain records of network configurations, device inventories, and policy violations.
  • Generate monthly reports on network performance, security incidents, and policy compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience: 3–5 years in network administration and endpoint support.
  • Certifications: CCNA, CompTIA A+/Network+, CISSP, or similar.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Expertise in configuring firewalls (e.g., Cisco, Fortinet) and reverse block/content filtering tools.
    • Proficiency in troubleshooting Windows/macOS, hardware (laptops/desktops), and enterprise software.
    • Knowledge of Active Directory, MDM (Mobile Device Management), and remote support tools (e.g., TeamViewer).
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication, patience for user support, and attention to detail.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with scripting (Python, PowerShell) to automate network/device management tasks.
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001) relevant to Burq's industry.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based endpoint management (e.g., Microsoft Intune, Jamf).
