McKendree University, located in Lebanon, IL, invites applicants for the position of non-tenure track Instructor for the School of Education, Superintendent and Principal Preparation programs. This is an on-campus, full-time position and is eligible for a competitive compensation and benefits package.

The instructor will be required to teach a myriad of courses and be able to supervise practicums and internships. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for teaching, a deep understanding of leadership methodologies, and a strong background as a K-12 and/or district leader.

Responsibilities:

  1. Design and deliver engaging curriculum in various subject areas, including but not limited to principal preparation, superintendent preparation, research methodology, assessment, and school law.
  2. Facilitate meaningful classroom discussions, group activities, and hands-on teaching experiences to develop students' leadership skills.
  3. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes critical thinking, creativity, and effective leadership strategies.
  4. Provide constructive feedback, guidance, and mentorship to aspiring leaders to enhance their skills.
  5. Stay current with best practices in K-12 education and adapt instructional methods accordingly.
  6. Supervise students in the field during practicums and internships.

Qualifications:

  • Doctorate in Education or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of K-12 leadership experience in a public or private school setting.
  • A strong understanding of various leadership methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in education.
  • Familiarity with educational technology and its integration into the curriculum.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to a positive academic community.
  • A passion for teaching and a dedication to shaping the next generation of educational leaders.

FLSA Category: Exempt

Salary Range: $40,260.00 - $50,000.00 / annually

Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including qualifications, performance, departmental equity, market rates, and budget.

McKendree University is a private university located in the historic city of Lebanon, Illinois, 25 minutes from downtown St. Louis. With over 2,500 students, it offers undergraduate and graduate programs both on campus and online.
