Job Description

Position Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated IoT System Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining IoT systems and solutions that integrate hardware, software, and network components. This role requires a deep understanding of IoT technologies, protocols, and platforms, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative and scalable IoT solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop IoT systems and solutions, including hardware, software, and network components.
  • Create system architecture and design documentation.
  • Lead the technical development and maintenance of our M2X (IoT Gateway).
  • Develop and implement IoT protocols and standards.
  • Integrate IoT devices, sensors, and gateways with cloud platforms/servers or enterprise systems.
  • Deploy and configure IoT solutions in various environments, ensuring scalability and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues.
  • Implement and manage firmware over-the-air (OTA) update systems for IoT devices.
  • Implement data collection, storage, and processing solutions for IoT systems.
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines and analytics platforms.
  • Ensure data security and privacy in IoT systems.
  • Monitor the performance and health of large-scale IoT systems and devices for data accuracy and performance.
  • Perform regular maintenance and updates to ensure system reliability and security.
  • Diagnose and resolve system issues promptly.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software developers, and data scientists.
  • Communicate technical concepts and solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Lead in project planning and provide technical guidance for the largest smart city IoT implementation in the region.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest IoT technologies, trends, and best practices.
  • Evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies, and methodologies.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative IoT solutions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in designing and developing large-scale IoT systems and solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with IoT platforms (e.g., AWS IoT, Microsoft Azure IoT, Google Cloud IoT).
  • Experience with IoT protocols and familiarity with embedded systems and microcontrollers.
  • Proficiency in IoT data processing, device configuration, and communication protocols (TCP, UDP, MQTT).
  • Experience with high-performance data processing, big data, and time-series databases.
  • Experience dealing with databases including MySQL, PostgreSQL, time-series databases, Redis, Memcache
  • Understanding of load balancing, failover, high availability, and disaster recovery.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • IoT certifications (e.g., AWS Certified IoT Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure IoT Developer Specialty).
  • Relevant certifications in networking, cybersecurity, or cloud computing.
