Chief Executive Officer

Role Summary:

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will lead and oversee the strategic direction and execution of a large-scale polymetallic open-pit mining project. This includes managing the entire lifecycle from exploration and development to full-scale operations and commercial growth. The ideal candidate is a seasoned mining executive with deep technical proficiency, strategic insight, and a history of driving performance in complex and multidisciplinary mining environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

• Define and execute the long-term vision and strategic roadmap for the mining project.
• Lead the transition from exploration to production, ensuring delivery of key milestones.
• Establish and track KPIs to measure operational and financial performance aligned with corporate goals.

Operational Excellence:

• Oversee all facets of geological exploration, resource modelling, mine planning, and production.
• Ensure optimal selection, deployment, and maintenance of mining and processing equipment.
• Implement best-in-class practices to ensure safety, efficiency, and sustainability across operations.
• Drive innovation by introducing technologies that enhance recovery, productivity, and cost efficiency.

Team & Organizational Leadership:

• Build, lead, and mentor a multidisciplinary team across operations, geology, engineering, and support functions.
• Promote a high-performance culture focused on accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Lead capacity-building initiatives to ensure skills development and workforce readiness.

Governance, Compliance & Risk Management:

• Ensure full compliance with applicable laws, industry standards, and environmental and safety regulations.
• Oversee the development and implementation of robust ESG frameworks.
• Identify and mitigate operational, financial, environmental, and reputational risks.
• Stakeholder Management & External Relations
• Act as the principal spokesperson and liaison with government entities, investors, regulatory agencies, and local communities.
• Build and maintain strategic alliances with contractors, suppliers, and technical partners.
• Lead CSR and community development programs to strengthen stakeholder engagement and social license to operate.

Financial & Commercial Oversight:

• Develop and manage budgets across exploration, development, and production phases.
• Ensure strong financial controls, cost optimization, and capital efficiency.
• Work closely with the Board on investment strategies, fundraising, and key commercial decisions.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, or a related discipline. An MBA or relevant postgraduate degree is preferred.
• 18–20 years of progressive leadership experience in mining operations, with at least 8 years in senior roles within polymetallic open-pit mining.
• Demonstrated expertise in mine planning, pit design, resource optimization, and metallurgical processing.
• Proven experience in leading full-lifecycle mining operations, including exploration, development, production, and compliance.
• Strong leadership and team-building skills with experience in managing large, cross-functional teams.

Preferred:

• Familiarity with advanced processing technologies, mining software, and digital mining solutions.
• Prior experience working in remote or challenging environments.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
