Research Associate

Job Summary: The Research Associate will provide high-level research, analytical, and administrative support to a senior executive in the global public health sector. This role demands an in-depth understanding of public health policies, epidemiology, and health systems, combined with exceptional research and communication skills. The ideal candidate will be proactive, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-demand environment, including frequent travel, stakeholder engagements, health sector events, and evening commitments such as networking dinners and receptions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Public Health Research & Analysis:
2. Conduct comprehensive research on global public health trends, policies, and emerging health challenges.
3. Analyze epidemiological and health systems data to provide evidence-based insights.
4. Develop policy briefs, research reports, and white papers on critical public health issues.
5. Summarize academic papers, WHO guidelines, and government health reports for executive review.
6. Assist in formulating public health strategies, frameworks, and evidence-based policy recommendations.
7. Monitor and track global health funding opportunities, regulatory developments, and multilateral initiatives.
8. Support the executive in decision-making by providing well-researched insights on global health governance, financing, and innovation.
9. Project & Stakeholder Engagement:
10. Assist with engaging ministries of health, UN agencies, NGOs, donors, and public health leaders.
11. Prepare briefing materials, talking points, and presentations for high-level policy meetings and summits.
12. Coordinate multi-country public health initiatives, ensuring timely delivery of key milestones.
13. Represent the executive in health sector meetings, global health forums, and international policy discussions.
14. Meetings, Conferences & Extensive Travel:
15. Travel frequently both domestically and internationally to attend and support health-related conferences, technical working groups, and high-level stakeholder engagements.
16. Coordinate logistics for speaking engagements, panel discussions, and advisory board meetings.
17. Assist in organizing and attending ministerial meetings, donor roundtables, and high-profile networking dinners.
18. Ensure seamless scheduling and preparation for all executive engagements in the public health space.
19. Writing & Communication:
20. Draft and edit technical reports, policy briefs, research articles, and speeches on public health topics.
21. Prepare grant proposals and funding applications for health programs and research initiatives.
22. Ensure all communications are scientifically rigorous, policy-relevant, and aligned with organizational goals.
23. Administrative & Logistical Support:
24. Manage the executive's public health research calendar, project timelines, and high-priority commitments.
25. Organize and maintain research databases, health policy documents, and key reference materials.
26. Handle confidential health data and policy documents with the utmost discretion and professionalism.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

1. Master's or Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Public Health, Global Health, Epidemiology, Health Policy, Anthropology, Sociology, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 1 year of experience in public health research, policy analysis, or health program implementation.
3. Willingness and ability to travel extensively (both domestic and international).
4. Availability for evening events, networking dinners, and extended work hours as required.
5. Strong proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, R, Stata, or Python) and public health research methodologies.
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated experience in technical writing.
7. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
8. Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement abilities in a global health context.
