Purpose

The purpose of this role is to ensure the smooth operation of the combined cycle power plant and its auxiliaries as per OEM guidelines and operational best practices. Responsibilities include monitoring GT, ST, HRSG, and other auxiliaries for safe operation, supervising subordinates, liaising with other sections, maintaining records, and reporting abnormalities. The goal is to operate the plant with optimal availability, reliability, and efficiency, and to perform shift duties as instructed.

Education
  • B. Tech / DAE in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering
  • 1st Class Boiler Engineer certificate
Knowledge
  • Power Plant Operations and Maintenance
  • Commercial awareness
  • System Network understanding
  • HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, SAP
Experience
  • Minimum 5 years in boiler operations
ResponsibilitiesOperations
  • Ensure plant availability and readiness, respond promptly to system requirements
  • Conduct regular inspections, ensure efficient operation, and report during shift handovers
  • Operate the plant safely during startup, normal operation, and shutdown as per SOP
  • Perform safe isolation and normalization of equipment
Troubleshooting and Improvement
  • Assist in defect troubleshooting
  • Support plant problem analysis and propose improvements
Changeover, Testing, and Safety
  • Ensure smooth changeovers, monitor during initial operations, record parameters
  • Perform standard tests, report deviations, and document results
  • Complete PTW and HV/MV/LV switching tests and interviews
  • Implement safety protocols, ensure PPE usage, and participate in safety meetings
Other Duties
  • Supervise subordinate staff and maintain good housekeeping
  • Monitor plant efficiency and trending for improvements
  • Manage documentation, drawings, manuals, and SAP utilization
  • Attend training and develop team members
