As a Security Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Cyber Security and Technology Controls, you will be an experienced member of a team dedicated to developing software solutions that meet established functional and user requirements while ensuring protection against misuse, circumvention, and malicious activities. You will implement essential technology solutions using tamper-proof, audit-defensible methods across diverse technical domains within various business functions, all in support of the firm's business objectives.

Job responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and troubleshoot security solutions, applying knowledge of existing security solutions to meet internal client requirements (e.g., product, platform, application owners).
  • Create secure, high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that operate synchronously with relevant systems.
  • Use specialized tools (e.g., vulnerability scanners) to analyze and correlate incident data to identify, interpret, and summarize the potential impact of threats when assessing vulnerabilities.
  • Lead activities related to security awareness, training, education, and exercises.
  • Contribute to fostering a team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification in security engineering concepts and at least 3 years of applied experience.
  • Hands-on experience with React, Java/J2EE, Microservices, Spring, database knowledge, Spring Data JPA, CI/CD, feature design, and production issue debugging and resolution.
  • Experience in developing security engineering solutions.
  • Proficiency in coding in one or more programming languages.
  • Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Strong understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Familiarity with modern front-end technologies.
  • Knowledge of Camunda 8, database modeling, performance tuning, and cloud technologies.
