We are seeking a potential Senior Occupational Therapist to join AKUH. This position is based on revenue-sharing model on a one-year renewable contract. Key responsibilities will include:

  • prepare individualized therapy plans for patients
  • perform 6 monthly standardized assessments to monitor progress or decline
  • conduct teaching sessions for parents and facilitate group sessions
  • impart training on standardized tests, therapy plan development, execution and monitoring
  • maintain documentation of patient notes and educational plans
  • comply with department policies and organizational quality standards
  • participate in quality initiatives under supervision
  • attend/ Participate in departmental meeting, conferences, seminar, and lectures
  • participation in academic sessions and keep oneself updated and train fellow therapists
  • be compliant with the clinical and managerial key performance indicators pertaining to JCIA, patient care and admin outcomes
  • be compliant with organizational and departmental policies, and work in line with the defined quality and clinical practice guidelines.
Requirements

You should have:

  • Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred) in Occupational Therapy or equivalent from an HEC-recognized institution with at least 16-years of education completed.
  • at least 3-4 years of relevant experience of working with children independently in a recognized healthcare organization.
  • ability to perform standardized assessments of patients and, monitor and record patient progress
  • knowledge of counselling and other healthcare techniques.
  • ability to formulate care plan and deliver care to patients with complex needs.
  • readiness for new learning and challenges associated with neuro-rehabilitation and attitude to accept guidance and constructive criticism.
  • ability to effectively work in teams as well as independently and contribute to ongoing rehabilitation team building.
  • excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate and manage relationships with peers and rehabilitation team members as well as patients and their families.
  • Willingness to conduct afternoon and evening clinics.
