  • Job Title: Junior Climate Change Advisor
  • Supporting the implementation of inclusive policies and procedures in the assigned area of responsibility to avoid systematic biases or discrimination
  • Actively engage in on-going self-reflection and continue to advance their knowledge and skills related to diversity, equity and inclusion
  • Support the integration and operationalization gender and diversity aspects in project planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation and reporting
  • Support the development and implementation of inclusive suitable methodological approaches in the assigned area of responsibility to avoid systematic biases or discrimination
  • Support the implementation of project on Advancing Integrated Solutions for Clean Air Restoration and Engagement in Punjab
  • Assist in reviewing global, national and provincial air quality policies, regulations and enforcement mechanisms
  • Support in Mapping institutions and stakeholders in air quality management e.g., environmental protection agencies, sectoral departments including agriculture and transport.
  • Help drafting or updating technical guidelines, standard operating procedures (SOPs) or compliance checklist
  • Contribute to the compilation of baseline and follow-up emission estimates from residue burning using simple tools/spreadsheets.
  • Assist in coordinating and leading multi-sectoral technical community of practice for Air Quality Management while liasoning with range of stakeholders from development sector, policy, private sector, research and other related actors
  • Support in providing all relevant content-oriented inputs to the project team regarding the topics of Air Quality,Project Management and Cooperation in the region
  • Follow-up the implementation of project activities concerning climate change mitigation with a strong focus on the agriculture and transport sector in Punjab, Pakistan
  • Support in providing all project partners at federal and provincial level with capacity development measures regarding Air Quality Management and Climate Information Services
  • Support the Energy, Climate Change and Just Transition Cluster in an integrated approach pertaining to providing technical support in all projects as needed
  • Assist in tendering, contract management and carry out contracts of consultants and partners to ensure good implementation of projects
  • Support in following up on outsourced activities and their management from initiation to execution and closing
  • Assist in preparing and supporting internal and external reporting on project activities, including knowledge sharing and management
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Atmospheric Science, Public Policy, Urban Planning, Agriculture, Transport Planning, Development studies or related field
  • 1-2 years of experience in comparable position preferably in development and/ or research related position and/ or international or national Non-Governmental Organization
