Job Summary

Cloud Engineer - FinOps is responsible for optimizing and managing an organization's cloud infrastructure. They assess the performance, security, and cost-effectiveness of cloud services, ensuring efficient utilization. The Cloud Engineer FinOps at Cloudelligent will support the cloud team in delivering highly communicative and economic support to their customers as they embark on their cloud journey. In this role you will measure, monitor, and analyze the usage of our cloud customers and make recommendations for cost optimization. Successful candidates are experienced analysts with technical depth and expertise, along with strong customer engagement and communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement and adhere to FinOps practices for efficient cloud cost management.
• Collaborate with security teams to integrate SecOps best practices into the cloud environment.
• Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with FinOps and SecOps guidelines.
• Develop and maintain efficient reporting mechanisms for cloud-related metrics and KPIs.
• Perform in-depth analysis of cloud usage, costs, and security incidents.
• Provide actionable insights to optimize cloud performance, cost efficiency, and security.
• Collaborate with architects and engineers to design scalable and secure cloud solutions.
• Ensure the implementation aligns with best practices for performance, security, and cost optimization.
• Implement monitoring solutions to proactively identify and address performance issues.
• Continuously optimize cloud resources to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
• Implement and enforce security measures to protect cloud-based systems and data.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and provide cloud solutions.
• Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for cloud configurations, processes, and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 2+ years of FinOps and Cloud Operations experience.
• Technical understanding of AWS service offerings.
• Strong quantitative data analysis skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerBI and PowerPoint or similar programs.
• Understanding of security processes, controls and tools.
• Proven experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Familiarity with networking concepts and security best practices in a cloud environment.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate, SysOps Administrator Associate) are a plus.
