Position Title: Sr. Cloud Architect

Job Location: Islamabad

CONVO is seeking a talented Sr. Architect to join our team. In this role, you will spearhead design (working with our product team) and implementation of the integration points and data architecture between our cloud-native solutions and our clients' enterprise environments, ensuring all customers are provided an enterprise-grade implementation that scales.

Leveraging your expertise in Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Amazon Web Services (AWS), along with a strong familiarity with CPG / FMCG business and data, you will architect solutions that not only meet stringent performance and scalability requirements but also harmonize effortlessly with our clients' existing IT ecosystems.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Cloud Platforms:

• In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with the full spectrum of Microsoft Azure services, including compute, storage, networking, databases, and security.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform, services such as Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, VPC, BigQuery, and Kubernetes Engine.
• Familiarity with Amazon Web Services offerings, including EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, Lambda, and IAM.

2. Architecture Design:

• Ability to architect highly available, fault-tolerant, and scalable cloud solutions integrations that meet business requirements and align with best practices.
• Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud solutions to leverage the strengths of different cloud providers while ensuring interoperability and security.

3. EDM / Data Lakes and Data Warehouses:

• In-depth understanding of data lake architecture principles and best practices, including data ingestion, storage, processing, and analytics.
• Hands-on experience with data warehouse design patterns and methodologies, such as star schema, snowflake schema, and data vault.
• Experience with cloud-native data lake and warehouse services offered by Microsoft Azure (e.g., Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Synapse Analytics), Google Cloud Platform (e.g., BigQuery, Cloud Storage), and Amazon Web Services (e.g., Amazon S3, Amazon Redshift).

4. Extract, Transform, Load (ETL):

• Expertise in designing and implementing ETL processes to extract data from various sources, transform it into a usable format, and load it into target systems.
• Proficiency in ETL tools and frameworks such as Apache Spark, Apache Beam, Informatica, Talend, or Azure Data Factory is a plus.
• Ability to optimize ETL workflows for performance, scalability, and reliability, leveraging parallel processing, caching, and incremental loading techniques.

5. Data Analytics and Business Intelligence:

• Familiarity with data analytics and business intelligence tools for querying, visualization, and reporting, such as Power BI, Tableau, or Google Data Studio.
• Ability to architect end-to-end analytics solutions that integrate data from multiple sources, perform advanced analytics, and deliver actionable insights to stakeholders.

6. CI/CD & IAC:

• Familiarity with Integration of data pipelines into CI/CD workflows for automated testing, deployment, and monitoring.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git), continuous integration tools (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps), and deployment automation techniques for data infrastructure.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools and frameworks such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and Google Cloud Deployment Manager.
• Experience automating infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and management using scripting languages like Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
  
  

7. Security and Compliance:

• Strong understanding of cloud security principles and best practices, including identity and access management, data encryption, network security, and compliance standards.

8. Collaboration and Communication:

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external vendors.
• Experience leading architecture discussions, presenting technical solutions, and providing guidance to business and technical teams.

9. Continuous Learning and Innovation:

• Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with the latest advancements in cloud technologies and industry trends.
• Proven ability to innovate and propose novel solutions to address complex technical challenges in cloud infrastructure design and management.

10. Education and Certifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Cloud Certified - Professional Cloud Architect, and AWS Certified Solutions Architect are highly desirable.

11. Team Leadership and Mentoring:

• Experience in mentoring junior architects and guiding them in their career growth.
• Ability to lead by example, foster a culture of excellence, and drive architectural decisions that align with organizational goals and objectives.

12. Cross-functional Collaboration:

• Ability to collaborate effectively with data engineers, data scientists, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements, define data models, and deliver data-driven solutions.

13. Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:

• Strong documentation skills for documenting data architectures, design decisions, and operational procedures.
• Proven ability to facilitate knowledge sharing sessions, training programs, and workshops to disseminate best practices and foster a culture of data-driven decision-making.

Qualification and Experience:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Sciences, Computer Engineering or any relevant field from a reputable institute.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in software architecture, with at least 3 years focused on cloud infrastructure.
• Proven track record of designing and implementing complex cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Amazon Web Services (AWS) Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) platforms.
• Strong CPG Data & Analytics background, with experience working on complex data sets and data cubes, AI modeling and experience is a plus
