Sr. JIRA Consultant

We are seeking a dynamic and hands-on Atlassian/Jira Cloud Consultant to support, maintain, and extend our Atlassian Cloud application suite (Jira Software, JSM, Confluence, Bitbucket). This role is ideal for a candidate who combines technical expertise with strong communication skills and a passion for enabling others. In addition to core administration duties, the ideal candidate will contribute to solution development for proposals, mentor junior team members, deliver client demos, and drive innovative use of Atlassian tools across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administration & Support
  • Manage configuration, maintenance, and administration of Atlassian Cloud products (Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Confluence, Bitbucket).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly, collaborating with other admins and internal support teams.
• Customization & Optimization
  • Design and optimize Jira workflows, custom fields, schemes, permissions, screens, and automation rules.
  • Create dashboards and reports to provide insights to management and teams.
  • Administer and optimize the usage of Jira Marketplace apps and add-ons such as Automation for Jira, ScriptRunner, Insight, Tempo, BigPicture, Zephyr, and others
• Integration & Development
  • Develop and deploy integrations between Atlassian products and internal toolchains (e.g., Slack, Git, CRM systems, CI/CD tools).
  • Support automation of manual processes through scripting (e.g., Automation for Jira, REST API)
• Conduct training sessions for employees, new hires, and customers on Jira, Confluence, and best practices.
• Mentor junior administrators and business analysts, fostering knowledge-sharing and professional growth.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for teams transitioning to agile tools or customizing their Atlassian environments.
• Collaborate with business development and proposal teams to design Atlassian-based solutions for clients.
• Support proposal writing and contribute to technical sections in RFPs/RFQs involving Jira/JSM/Confluence.
• Deliver live product demos to prospective clients and stakeholders showcasing features and value.
• Explore new Atlassian features, beta programs, and marketplace tools to continuously improve the ecosystem.
• Stay current with industry trends and suggest innovative ways to use Atlassian tools for improved collaboration and delivery.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

• Education:
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience:
  • 2-3 years of direct experience in administering Atlassian Cloud products (Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Confluence, Bitbucket).
  • Experience in working within Agile environments using Scrum or Kanban frameworks.
• Certifications (Highly Preferred but not mandatory):
  • Atlassian Certified Professional (ACP) in Jira Administration, Jira Service Management, or Confluence.
  • Technical certifications such as ITIL, Scrum Master, or Azure/AWS fundamentals are a plus.
• Technical Proficiency:
  • Strong command of JQL (Jira Query Language).
  • Familiarity with REST APIs, scripting (e.g., Groovy, Python), and Atlassian automation tools.
  • Understanding of ITSM concepts and service delivery processes.
• Soft Skills:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.

Nice to Have:

• Working knowledge of CI/CD, DevOps pipelines, and version control tools (Git, Bitbucket).
