A posição

The Medical Affairs Partner (Ophthalmology) demonstrates personal purpose around improving the patient journey, as well as strong passion to create value and impact on the ecosystem. They think from an Enterprise level, beyond boundaries and borders, in order to bring best possible outcomes to both the local health environment, and more broadly, across Roche globally. Facilitates and develops the relationship with the medical/scientific community including physicians and medical centers, by communicating the value of Roche's science to investigators and institutions. Provides information on research developments, and new concepts in medical treatment, giving perspective to field activities associated with growing existing products, and bringing new products to market.

The Opportunity:

The Medical Affairs (Ophthalmology) is a senior role within the affiliate, with decision-making authority to request resources of Roche (both within the affiliate and broader network) to improve impact on the patient journey.

  • Stewards products and services relevant to their therapeutic area/ecosystem throughout their lifecycle, supporting the quality use of medicine and improved patient outcomes.
  • Maintain a broad understanding of the relevant current portfolio and future pipeline. Anticipate and address future ecosystem and patient journey solutions.
  • Share scientific information concerning pharmaceutical products, including investigational findings, in scientific media, direct communications, and conferences with healthcare professionals and the scientific community.
  • Support relevant PDMA and Country Clinical Operations trials, Early Access Program, and Compassionate Use activities within their disease area/ecosystem.
  • Work with partners to uncover opportunities to transform outcomes for patients, bringing Roche's expertise, science, and knowledge into the ecosystem.
  • Act as a trusted partner and primary contact between stakeholders and Roche, sharing community needs internally, prioritizing resources, and driving solutions for faster outcomes.
  • Partner with patient journey stakeholders to remove roadblocks and unlock possibilities for value delivery.
  • Steward Roche's products through their lifecycle, supporting their appropriate use and sharing their merits with healthcare professionals.
  • Oversee the patient journey as a system thinker, identifying shared purpose among stakeholders and co-creating solutions.
  • Pull in expertise and resources locally and from the network as needed, including collaboration with other PJPs.
  • Ensure positive experiences when stakeholders engage with Roche employees, products, and services.

Competencies

Skills and Experience :

  • System thinker and deep listener.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, including partnering with TAE's and organizations; experience with PAGs is highly desired.
  • Experience working efficiently and harmoniously in cross-functional teams; experience in strategy formulation and team orchestration is highly desired.
  • Ability to understand and leverage digital tools is desired.
  • Experience with agile ways of working is desired.

Other relevant capabilities:

  • Fluent in the local language; proficiency in English is highly desired for internal collaboration.
  • Evidence generation skills are required.
  • Experience in medical review of promotional materials is required.
  • Experience with compassionate use programs is highly desired.

Expertise

Who You Are, as expertise :

  • Deep understanding of patient journeys and treatments in Ophthalmology, enabling engagement at the specialist level.
  • Broad understanding of Roche's current portfolio and pipeline for future solutions.
  • Robust understanding of medical affairs strategies, including clinical research.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • University degree or higher in life sciences or pharmacy; a medical degree is an advantage.
