Role Description

This is a contract role for an Oracle Cloud (OCI) Expert, located on-site in Islamabad.

  • Lead the end-to-end migration of applications, databases, and workloads from AWS to Oracle Cloud (OCI).
  • Assess the existing AWS infrastructure and design a robust migration strategy to OCI.
  • Architect secure, scalable, and cost-effective solutions on Oracle Cloud.
  • Optimize Oracle Cloud Infrastructure for performance, security, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with developers, database administrators, and IT teams to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Develop automation scripts and tools for cloud deployment and management.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot post-migration performance and integration issues.
  • Provide guidance on best practices, governance, and security standards in Oracle Cloud.
  • Train and mentor internal teams on OCI technologies and processes.

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of experience in cloud computing with a focus on Oracle Cloud (OCI) and AWS.
  • Expertise in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), including Compute, Networking, Storage, and Database services.
  • Strong understanding of AWS services, including EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, VPC, and migration tools.
  • Experience with cloud migration strategies, including re-hosting, re-platforming, and re-architecting.
  • Proficiency in Terraform, Ansible, or other infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools.
  • Knowledge of networking, security, and identity management in cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with Oracle databases (Oracle DB, Exadata, Autonomous DB) and migration techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with containers (Docker, Kubernetes) and DevOps practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
