About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Application Engineer to join our growing engineering team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of backend development, data engineering, and cloud infrastructure. You will be instrumental in designing and scaling backend systems, managing complex database migrations, and optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines to support mission-critical applications across the organization.

Working closely with cross-functional teams including product, infrastructure, and DevOps, you will help ensure the seamless flow of data, high-performance systems, and scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS and GCP.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Backend Development:
  • Build and maintain scalable backend systems and APIs using Node.js and Next.js, ensuring performance, security, and reliability.
  • Database Migrations:
  • Design and execute data migration strategies across relational (PostgreSQL) and non-relational (MongoDB, Elasticsearch) databases with minimal downtime.
  • Data Pipelines:
  • Build, maintain, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines to manage large-scale data ingestion, transformation, and integration across platforms.
  • Cloud Deployment:
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to deploy applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Amazon Web Services (AWS), utilizing tools like ECS, Lambda, BigQuery, and Cloud SQL.
  • DevOps Collaboration:
  • Improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation using tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in backend development, particularly with Node.js and JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks.
  • Experience with Next.js or similar server-side rendering frameworks.
  • Strong background in database migrations for SQL (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Elasticsearch).
  • Proven ability to design and manage ETL/ELT pipelines at scale.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms: AWS and GCP (BigQuery, ECS, Lambda, Compute Engine, etc.).
  • Proficiency in using CI/CD tools and best practices for DevOps.
  • Strong analytical and debugging skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
