Position: Assistant Manager - Data Center (Design & Planning)

Location: Head Office, Karachi (Full-time | Onsite)

Department: Infrastructure Sites & Facilities

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Assistant Manager - Data Center (Design & Planning) to join our Infrastructure Sites & Facilities team. This role involves overseeing the design, planning, and operational efficiency of our data centers, ensuring compliance with industry standards and fostering continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define data center operations, including the development of Change Management procedures, SOPs, and related tools.
  • Prepare BOQs, layouts, technical documentation, and RFPs.
  • Manage data centers to ensure vendors meet service level agreements as per contractual terms.
  • Develop and analyze energy-efficient solutions to minimize power losses.
  • Conduct site visits for engineering studies, electrical system audits, and startup testing.
  • Participate in Root-Cause Analysis (RCA) for equipment failures or power outages.
  • Provide instructions to vendors and installation contractors while ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of all data center infrastructure, including power systems, cooling, fire alarms, and generators.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience, preferably in data center or facility management.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, fire systems, and control systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills to effectively lead and inspire diverse teams.
  • Certifications such as CDCP (Certified Data Center Professional) or DCM (Data Center Management) are a plus.
  • Familiarity with power distribution, cooling systems, networking, and security will be advantageous.
