Research Summary of the Faculty

Professor Abhinav Uppal: Professor Uppal obtained his PhD and MS in Marketing from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. His research interests include microeconomic theory and game theory applications in marketing, policy debates like net neutrality, and retailing in developed and emerging economies. His previous experience includes algorithmic trading strategies at Tower Research Capital and research on technology for emerging markets at Microsoft Research India. He holds a BTech from IIT Delhi and is a KVPY and NTSE scholar.

Roles & Responsibilities
  1. Assist faculty in research, including developing models, algorithms, and experiments.
  2. Compile data from websites or documents into usable formats.
  3. Manage databases, ensure data quality, and process raw data.
  4. Analyze data using econometric methods, review literature, and assist in writing papers.
  5. Conduct market and economic analyses, and prepare reports with insights.
Qualifications

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Graduate from a top program with high academic excellence.
  • Master's degree in economics, mathematics, statistics, computer science, or related fields from reputed institutions.
Skills
  • Strong analytical and programming skills; experience in programming languages preferred.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Interest in pursuing a PhD in Quantitative Marketing.
  • Knowledge of game theory is a plus.
  • Motivated, diligent, and eager to learn.
