Job Description

The psychologist will provide mental health and psychosocial support services, including individual and group counselling and psychotherapy.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

In accordance with national and international guidelines on best practices related to mental health and psychosocial support, the psychologist will:

  1. Provide evidence-based psychological services for clients and their families with mental health conditions and psychosocial issues.
  2. Engage with clinical and supportive supervision.
  3. Work as part of a mental health case management team along with other service providers.
  4. Support the delivery of training for staff on topics relevant to psychological practice and case management.
  5. Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with clients.
  6. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  7. Conduct risk assessments and advise staff accordingly, including safety plan development.
  8. Stay updated on evidence-based psychological interventions and advances in the field.
  9. Participate in professional development opportunities.
  10. Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  11. Promote mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) through community activities.
  12. Report appropriately as required.

Job RequirementsMinimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree in psychology and/or a valid license to practice psychology.
  • Experience with an NGO is preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience in mental health is preferred.
  • Proficiency in at least one psychotherapy technique.
  • Knowledge of human rights issues related to mental health (preferred).
  • Computer literacy, especially Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in low-resource settings.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multiethnic environment.
  • Interest in continuous professional development.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English.
  • Experience working with refugees or NGOs is preferred.
