General Summary:

We are seeking engineers with demonstrable software and system knowledge, and hands-on experience in camera modules and algorithms. The Camera team develops embedded imaging solutions for Snapdragon chipsets powering advanced mobile devices. Our solutions utilize dedicated hardware, multi-core processors, DSP, and GPU cores to deliver top-tier photographs, videos, and scene data for image understanding and object detection.

Responsibilities:
  • Designing architecture for various camera pipeline modules and developing software for Camera Sensors, Actuators, EEPROM, OIS, FLASH, TOF, IR-LED, GMSL, and Aggregated cameras.
  • Understanding and interfacing with Kernel drivers of PMIC, GPIO, clock, I2C, MIPI-CSI2 DPHY+ CPHY, SPI, PCIE.
  • Proposing and optimizing software algorithms, and updating software to handle complex use cases to enhance performance.
  • Learning new hardware modules interfaces rapidly and creating software interface layers for these modules.
  • Collaborating with software and customer teams to debug issues.
  • Evaluating new solutions and exploring possibilities to improve performance.
  • Adapting to new technologies quickly and demonstrating strong debugging skills.
  • Working effectively with geographically dispersed teams.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field with 2+ years of software engineering experience OR
  • Master's in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field with 1+ year of experience OR
  • PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

Additional requirements include:

  • 3-8 years of experience in embedded systems or camera domain.
  • Strong C/C++ programming and debugging skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of OS fundamentals, data structures, and Linux Kernel.
  • Experience with camera sensors, actuators, EEPROM, OIS, FLASH, TOF, IR-LED, GMSL, and aggregated cameras.
  • Proficiency with Kernel drivers of PMIC, GPIO, clock, I2C, I3C, MIPI-CSI2 DPHY+ CPHY, SPI, PCIE.
  • Ability to debug complex embedded system problems.
  • Knowledge of camera processing pipelines is a plus.
  • Knowledge of embedded systems / Android & Linux is a plus.
  • Proficiency with version control tools such as git.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Good understanding of ARM architecture is a plus.
Education Requirements:
  • Required: Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering.
  • Preferred: Master's in the same fields.
