Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated PHP Developer with a strong command of back-end technologies, database design, and API integration. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a night-shift environment, is passionate about writing clean, efficient code, and is capable of delivering high-quality solutions under minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust web applications using PHP (preferably Laravel, CodeIgniter, or Symfony frameworks).
  • Write clean, scalable, and well-documented code following industry best practices.
  • Integrate third-party services, APIs, and RESTful endpoints.
  • Build and optimize relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL), including query performance tuning.
  • Collaborate with front-end developers and UI/UX designers to implement responsive, user-centric features.
  • Conduct code reviews, troubleshoot bugs, and perform unit and integration testing.
  • Work independently and take full ownership of assigned modules and deadlines.
  • Maintain clear documentation and update technical specifications as required.
  • Coordinate with QA teams during nightly build deployments and ensure system stability.
  • Stay updated with emerging trends in web development and propose relevant improvements.

Requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of proven experience in PHP development, especially during night shifts or freelance/remote assignments.
  • Strong understanding of OOP principles and MVC architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with PHP frameworks (Laravel, CodeIgniter, or others).
  • Good knowledge of JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, HTML5, CSS3.
  • Proficiency in writing MySQL queries, stored procedures, and database schema design.
  • Experience with version control systems (Git/GitHub/Bitbucket).
  • Familiarity with server-side scripting and deployment processes (Apache/Nginx, cPanel/SSH).
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with CMS platforms (WordPress, Magento).
  • Knowledge of DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Exposure to Docker, APIs, WebSockets, and cloud services (AWS, Azure, etc.).

Shift & Work Expectations:

  • Must be comfortable working night shifts.
  • Ability to manage deadlines independently and collaborate with teams across different time zones.
  • Available for occasional calls or huddles during non-standard hours as required.
