We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team as VP - Controls and Quality Assurance.

Business: Central Operations

Principal Responsibilities

  • Engage with various stakeholders including Second Line of Defence (2LoD), Group Operations Executives, Regional Forums, Business BRCM, RMM, Procurement stakeholders, TPRO, TPEMs, Risk Domains, Risk Stewards, Internal and External Auditors, and Local regulators.
  • Lead a team of SMEs supporting the Hub through guidance and training to ensure quality service and compliance with obligations.
  • Maintain strong understanding of regional and global regulations related to third-party risk to ensure compliance and interpret regulatory changes.
  • Build relationships with 2nd Line of Defence and risk stewards, serving as the contact point for third-party risk management.
  • Provide training and upskilling for Hub resources, supporting their development and capacity building.
  • Lead the resolution of findings from HSBC internal control audits, ensuring the effectiveness of risk guidance and control frameworks.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships within the HUB, including Second Line of Defence, Procurement, TPEMs, TPROs.
  • Identify development needs within the team and facilitate ongoing training and process improvements.
  • Oversee adherence to TPM procedures and policies within the team.
  • Plan and execute periodic reviews of process adherence, thematic reviews, quality control, and end-to-end operational reviews.
  • Deliver white papers on risk insights and improvement areas, maintaining a repository of findings for continuous improvement.
  • Review analysis, MI, and reporting to identify themes, trends, and risks affecting HSBC's objectives.
  • Translate strategy into functional goals, setting high standards for delivery and team performance.
  • Engage with the team and stakeholders to ensure collaborative and persuasive communication, emphasizing diversity and knowledge sharing.
  • Model HSBC's values and behaviors, delivering superior customer service and protecting the organization's reputation.
