Infection Prevention Coordinator - Islamabad - Infection Control

Experience

At least 3-5 years of relevant work experience, including training and coordination of Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) programs. Candidates with direct IPC implementation and training experience will be preferred.

Education

Master's degree in Health Sciences or relevant qualifications such as MBBS/MPH. IPC diploma/certification will be considered an asset.

Job Description

Tasks & Accountabilities:

The responsibilities of the Infection Prevention Coordinator include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop tools to assess Infection Prevention Practices (IPP) at the facility level.
  • Provide ongoing monitoring, knowledge updates, and refresher training at facilities regarding IPP.
  • Assist the Program Manager with field assessments for IPC.
  • Design assessments for IPC at both facility and community levels.
  • Help develop training materials required for IPP at facilities.
  • Create materials for IPP demonstrations at the community level.
  • Demonstrate clinical knowledge through problem solving and decision making.
  • Conduct needs assessments using strategic tools, assisting learners in identifying needs and outcomes.
  • Apply principles of adult learning in planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Develop and coordinate plans for initial and ongoing competency validation.
  • Deliver competency-based programs focused on improving IPP and knowledge retention.
  • Support staff development through educational activities.
  • Prepare short- and long-term plans and programs to address identified needs.
  • Participate in performance reviews.
  • Engage in quality improvement activities and organizational accreditation processes.
  • Participate in relevant committees, meetings, and service activities, providing feedback and disseminating information.
  • Participate in critical incident debriefings as required.
  • Ensure programs align with organizational missions, values, and goals.
  • Develop technical reports and presentations for program activities, donors, and stakeholders.
  • Maintain flexibility when managing multiple roles and responsibilities.
  • Interpret and communicate across multiple disciplines.
  • Conduct IPC training sessions in selected districts.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
