Job Summary:

The PPC Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing both Capacity Resource Planning (CRP) and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) functions. The role ensures efficient production planning, timely material procurement, and optimal utilization of resources to meet organizational objectives. This position demands strong analytical skills, effective coordination with multiple departments, and the ability to handle complex planning processes in a dynamic production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Production Planning:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive production plans to ensure timely delivery of products.
  • Optimize production schedules based on resource availability, demand forecasts, and capacity constraints.
  • Monitor production performance against plans and recommend adjustments as needed.
Capacity Resource Planning (CRP):
  • Analyze and determine production capacity requirements to meet changing demands.
  • Collaborate with the operations and HR departments to address manpower, equipment, and facility needs.
  • Evaluate and manage machine utilization rates, ensuring maximum efficiency.
Material Requirements Planning (MRP):
  • Manage material planning and procurement to ensure raw materials are available as per production schedules.
  • Liaise with procurement and suppliers to maintain optimal inventory levels, minimizing waste and stockouts.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of material usage and adjust inventory policies accordingly.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the procurement, quality, and production departments to align planning activities with operational goals.
  • Ensure seamless communication with sales and marketing teams to incorporate customer demand into production planning.
  • Coordinate with logistics teams to manage inbound and outbound material flows.
Monitoring and Reporting:
  • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production, capacity, and material management.
  • Generate and present regular reports to senior management, highlighting planning efficiency and potential bottlenecks.
  • Implement and maintain planning software tools to enhance forecasting and scheduling accuracy.
Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance planning accuracy and reduce costs.
  • Develop contingency plans to mitigate risks in production and material supply chains.
  • Stay updated with industry best practices and integrate them into planning functions.

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field. (Master's degree preferred.)
  2. Experience: Minimum 8-9 years of experience in production planning, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  3. Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in MRP/ERP systems and production planning tools.
  • Strong understanding of CRP, MRP, and supply chain principles.
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel and data analysis.
Soft Skills:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Adherence to production schedules.
  • Reduction in lead times and production downtime.
  • Inventory accuracy and material availability.
  • Machine and resource utilization rates.
