Responsibilities:

1. Support, Administer, and Manage multi-terabyte Database Systems for S&P Global Market Intelligence.
2. Manage key database releases for QA, Pre-Production, Production, and DR as part of the overall SDLC.
3. Contribute to product support tools and processes including run books, monitoring, and knowledge bases.
4. Install upgrades and patches to existing database servers.
5. Automate routine maintenance tasks using scripting technologies.
6. Analyze and solve routine problems using standard procedures.
7. Work with IT Server Management to ensure all events, incidents, and problems are resolved as per SLA.
8. Improve efficiency and quality of delivery by automating routine tasks.
9. Participate in 24x7 on-call tier 3 support on a weekly rotating schedule.
10. Contribute to process and troubleshooting documentation.
11. Support virtualized environments.

The Impact:

This is an extremely visible role as the database is the backbone of our flagship products. These products rely on data to allow our customers to find the companies, securities, and markets they are interested in, to explore relationships between entities, and to search using public identifiers (CUSIPs, ISINs, SEDOLs, Tickers, etc). This critical backend-driven data allows our users to value their portfolios, monitor market-moving events, understand their risk, and maintain their back-office systems.

The Team:

You will be part of a world-class Database Reliability Engineering (DBRE)/DSE team supporting various product offerings of S&P Global Market Intelligence. The team is responsible for ensuring Greater Reliability, High Performance, High Availability, and Scalability.

What We are looking for:

• We are looking for a passionate database team member who can lead by example and motivate their peers to excel.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering.

1+ years of hands-on database administration.

ITIL V3 Foundation Certified is a plus.

AZURE/AWS/GCP Certified is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with MS SQL Server and additional Database platforms like NoSQL, SOLR, Elastic Search, Oracle, and PostgreSQL is a plus.

Knowledge of Transactional Replication, Log Shipping, Mirroring, AlwaysOn, and Windows Clustering is a plus.

Knowledge of PowerShell or any other scripting or programming language is a plus.

Good communication skills, with verbal and writing proficiencies.
