We are seeking a mid-level Full-Stack Engineer with strong experience in both Java (Spring) backend development and modern TypeScript (Next.js) frontend development. This is a full-time contract opportunity (3+ months) to help build a greenfield data exchange platform that supports multiple user roles, data catalogs, and data transfer workflows.

You'll work closely with our core engineering team to shape the platform's architecture, implementation, and best practices from the ground up.

Full-Stack Java & TypeScript Developer

(Full-Time | 3+ Months | Remote | PST Overlap Required)

We are seeking a mid-level Full-Stack Engineer with strong experience in both Java (Spring) backend development and modern TypeScript (Next.js) frontend development. This is a full-time contract opportunity (3+ months) to help build a greenfield data exchange platform that supports multiple user roles, data catalogs, and data transfer workflows.

You'll work closely with our core engineering team to shape the platform's architecture, implementation, and best practices from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop scalable backend services using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Security, and Hibernate
  • Build modern, responsive frontend interfaces using Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and ShadCN UI
  • Collaborate closely with team members to define and follow coding standards and development workflows
  • Contribute to system architecture decisions and help structure a brand-new codebase
  • Participate in daily discussions, standups, and reviews to ensure progress and alignment
  • Assist in writing internal documentation and improving developer tools and processes
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of full-stack development experience with:
  • Java, Spring Boot, Spring Security, Hibernate
  • PostgreSQL and MongoDB
  • Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, ShadCN UI
  • Familiarity with collaboration and workflow tools:
  • GitHub, Jira, Slack, Notion, Google Docs/Drive
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor)
  • Strong communication skills in English (both written and spoken)
  • Availability to work and collaborate with a team based in the Pacific Time (PST) zone
Nice to Have
  • Prior experience contributing to greenfield projects
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (IaC)
  • Open-source contributions or a portfolio of relevant work
