Summary

The Operations Executive is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the maintenance and repair of electrical, plumbing, ventilation, material handling systems, equipment, suppliers, and other building systems.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for engineering activities, including new installations, replacements, upgrades, maintenance, and repair of all facilities and cargo equipment in dnata Cargo Services Division.
  2. Manage the maintenance team to provide engineering support and ensure effective maintenance and service repairs for all cargo equipment and building facilities to meet corporate and airline requirements.
  3. Study and implement equipment modifications, upgrades, or replacements to maximize cost-effectiveness in terms of performance, operation, maintenance costs, and energy consumption.
  4. Conduct failure and reliability analyses on major or frequent equipment failures and recommend failure prevention measures.
  5. Ensure engineering activities comply with international and local regulations.
  6. Plan and control the equipment maintenance budget, supervise, and monitor the work performance of the FE team.
  7. Monitor and control the stock levels of equipment parts and spares for dnata Flight cargo equipment to optimize costs.
  8. Create Blanket Purchase Requests (PR), maintenance plans, and Goods Received notes for contractors.
  9. Supervise and monitor the work performance of contractors and project teams. Facilitate work improvement meetings and activities.
  10. Identify new technologies, prepare equipment specifications, scope of work, and conduct tender processes.
  11. Determine proper operating conditions to enable equipment operators to achieve better and more consistent output quality.
  12. Develop maintenance programs for new equipment and identify maintenance solutions for complex technologies.
  13. Identify better maintenance practices to extend asset lifespan.
  14. Reduce routine workloads by optimizing existing preventive maintenance programs.
  15. Identify root causes of failures and define equipment functions and performance standards.
  16. Identify protective devices that are not fail-safe and address failures that threaten safety, operations, or incur repair costs.
  17. Ensure compliance with workplace safety, security, and health policies and procedures.

Requirements

  1. Minimum degree or diploma from a recognized tertiary institution.
  2. At least 3 years of experience in planning or resource management roles.
  3. Previous experience with airlines, airports, or ground handling companies is an advantage.
  4. Excellent analytical and planning skills, including rostering, overtime planning, and leave administration.
  5. Experience with decision support systems for resource allocation is desirable.
