The Federal Sales Representative is responsible for identifying, developing, and closing sales opportunities with U.S. federal government agencies. This role involves building long-term relationships with government clients, understanding their procurement processes and missions, and positioning the company's products and services as effective solutions.

The Federal Sales Representative is responsible for identifying, developing, and closing sales opportunities with U.S. federal government agencies. This role involves building long-term relationships with government clients, understanding their procurement processes and missions, and positioning the company's products and services as effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan targeting federal agencies such as DoD, DHS, VA, GSA, and others.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through RFPs, RFIs, GWACs, BPAs, and IDIQ contracts.
- Maintain a deep understanding of federal procurement policies and sales cycles.
- Cultivate strong relationships with federal contracting officers, program managers, and decision-makers.
- Work closely with internal teams (e.g., capture, proposal, legal, and delivery teams) to respond to solicitations and prepare winning bids.
- Track and report on sales activity, pipeline development, and revenue forecasting.
- Represent the company at federal industry conferences, tradeshows, and other networking events.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Public Administration, or a related field (Master's preferred for higher roles).
- 3–10 years of experience in federal sales or business development, depending on seniority.
- Proven track record of closing deals within federal civilian or defense markets.
- Strong knowledge of federal acquisition regulations (FAR/DFARS), contract vehicles, and government procurement practices.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance (if required).
- Familiarity with specific contract vehicles such as GSA Schedule, SEWP, NASA Solutions, or Alliant.
- Experience using CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, GovWin).
- Previous work with systems integrators, prime contractors, or federal resellers.
