The Federal Sales Representative is responsible for identifying, developing, and closing sales opportunities with U.S. federal government agencies. This role involves building long-term relationships with government clients, understanding their procurement processes and missions, and positioning the company's products and services as effective solutions.

Position Summary:

The Federal Sales Representative is responsible for identifying, developing, and closing sales opportunities with U.S. federal government agencies. This role involves building long-term relationships with government clients, understanding their procurement processes and missions, and positioning the company's products and services as effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan targeting federal agencies such as DoD, DHS, VA, GSA, and others.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through RFPs, RFIs, GWACs, BPAs, and IDIQ contracts.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of federal procurement policies and sales cycles.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with federal contracting officers, program managers, and decision-makers.
  • Work closely with internal teams (e.g., capture, proposal, legal, and delivery teams) to respond to solicitations and prepare winning bids.
  • Track and report on sales activity, pipeline development, and revenue forecasting.
  • Represent the company at federal industry conferences, tradeshows, and other networking events.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Public Administration, or a related field (Master's preferred for higher roles).
  • 3–10 years of experience in federal sales or business development, depending on seniority.
  • Proven track record of closing deals within federal civilian or defense markets.
  • Strong knowledge of federal acquisition regulations (FAR/DFARS), contract vehicles, and government procurement practices.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance (if required).
Preferred Experience:
  • Familiarity with specific contract vehicles such as GSA Schedule, SEWP, NASA Solutions, or Alliant.
  • Experience using CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, GovWin).
  • Previous work with systems integrators, prime contractors, or federal resellers.
